Jiggy Manicad’s Reporters’ Notebook Documentary: “Mas Masahol Pa Sa Hayop” – Worse than Animals
The problem I believe with most of us, is that we rarely think about the things that we watch every day. We never really discuss behaviors that are appalling, and while I understand that some would rather focus on “good news”, I’m not here to deliver death like the Reaper, but I think that this is too important not to share to anyone who happens to read my blog.
Jiggy Manicad, a senior broadcast journalist for GMA News TV, recently discussed about “Crush videos” where scantily clad females torture dogs, rabbits and any other animal you have a fetish for, in exchange of amounts ranging from 100 to 1000 USD. It’s almost like prostitution, only that the worst in people have found even harsher ways today to get money- by showing torture on video. (And to think the Post-9/11 World will not tolerate such sadistic behaviors!)
If you happen to watch Quentin Tarantino’s films particularly the Hostel series, you’d think that people finding others simply as non-humans were particularly meant only for the virtual imagination realm, and never for reality. After seeing the video though, I find that movies are simply what the mind can conceive, and since whatever our minds can conceive can turn into reality, we should always be careful of our inmost thoughts.
I suppose what makes me think about how our world has become too dark, isn’t to make us all gloomy, but to elicit that force deep inside, that we’re humans, and what is being done in the Philippines (these crush videos, and those who even find any pleasure in it !) should find themselves horrible.
It’s sad though, because the only way you can ever do such things, is by not even being aware how deeply troubling it already is. Acceptance of wrongdoings presumes a good foundation of what’s right and wrong. Clearly, some of us don’t have that solidly in place.
A quick google search with keywords crush videos will turn up with the following links:
MANILA, Philippines – Some foreigners pay as much as $1,000 to watch videos of young Filipinas torturing and killing animals all in the name of sexual arousal.
I ask you, (Filipinos, Chinese and all other crush video participants) to what extent can you even allow in your mind, to consider anything like this as arousal? Clearly this is horrific, senseless and unbelievable to the most negative places.
